New Admissions guidelines from the Austen Riggs Center.

Individual psychodynamic psychotherapy, combined with a community that supports and examines social engagement in an open setting, as well family therapy when appropriate, is what sets Riggs apart from other treatment programs. Our treatment approach emphasizes the importance of human relationships, the meaning within a person’s troubles, and the patient’s authority to actively engage with us in the treatment process. This work is centered around intensive individual psychotherapy with a doctor on staff. A multidisciplinary team of professionals, the Therapeutic Community Program and an Activities Program all contribute to a supportive learning environment.

This section provides an overview of our treatment program and the thorough pre-screening admissions process, as well as information about financing your stay. For individuals who are ready, treatment at Riggs can be transformative; however, we understand that there's a lot to take in, especially at a time that may be stressful. Undoubtedly, you'll have questions.

We encourage you to contact us or call 1-800-517-4447 if you think Riggs might be an option for you, your loved one or your patient.
