The Riggs Difference: Where Understanding Leads to Recovery
The Erikson Institute for Education, Research, and Advocacy extends the mission of the Austen Riggs Center by sharing and advancing the contemporary psychoanalytic ideas that guide our clinical work. Through innovative professional education programs, our psychoanalytic fellowship program, as well as impactful research, the Erikson Institute helps clinicians, educators, researchers, and scholars deepen their understanding of the complex psychological challenges facing individuals, groups, and society.
Professionals interested in psychoanalytic theory and practice can find learning opportunities through Erikson Institute-sponsored CE/CME events. We train postdoctoral psychiatrists and psychologists in our ACPEinc-accredited Fellowship and psychiatrists in training in our Elective in Psychodynamic Psychiatry. Erikson Scholars-in-Residence visit to pursue a project in their area of specialization.
The Erikson Institute offers diverse continuing education courses to enhance your professional development. We are accredited by Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (put logo) which covers physicians, psychologists, social workers, and nurses. We are also accredited by New York State for Psychologists and Social Workers.
